Through the Eyes of Children – Three Years After the Tsunami
These images represent stories of children whose lives were forever changed on December 26, 2004. The tsunami's devastation had a great impact on children. To help families cope with the emotional effects following the disaster, the American Red Cross engaged communities through Psychosocial Support Programs (PSP). These programs include creative activities such as singing, dancing, painting and traditional ceremonies. This approach aids individual recovery while encouraging a renewed sense of community.

Mexican Red Cross Response to Floods
Residents in the flooded state of Tabasco, Mexico receive donated food that will feed a family of five for the coming week. Todate, the Mexican Red Cross has handed out similar food parcels to nearly 300,000 people in a massive relief effort mobilizing10,000 Red Cross and civil defense volunteers to speed 650 tons of relief aid to needy families.

Midwest Tornadoe Damage - Greenburg, Kansas
A fierce tornado struck southwestern Kansas the evening of Friday, May 4, killing at least 10 people and destroying approximately 95 percent of the town of Greensburg. The storm system that spawned the tornado lingered in the Plains states through the weekend, producing heavy rains that caused many rivers and streams to overflow their banks.
