DC Lodging and Transportation/Parking

Washington D.C.

Lodging

Washington D.C. is described as a highly transient city with workers, politicians, officials and interns coming and going from all over the world. Even though searching for housing can be difficult, the American Red Cross National Headquarters is located in the middle city and near various methods transportation which makes finding housing very simple. Listed below are some options for housing and transportation in the Washington D.C. area.

  • The Red Cross has negotiated housing rates with George Washington University for on-campus housing. Given that the housing is limited, a small amount of housing will be provided on a first-come first-serve basis for interested interns. Students will live with other Red Cross interns on the George Washington University campus which is located 1 block from the American Red Cross National Headquarters. Once accepted into the program, interns will have the opportunity to apply for this housing.
  • Since the American Red Cross National Headquarters is located immediately next to George Washington University, the following link provides names and descriptions of additional housing located in close proximity to the GW campus. http://gwired.gwu.edu/offcampus/find/ApartmentBuildingsNeartheGWCampus/
